WHEN I STILL WORE CHILDREN BOOTS

My mum said that I was a difficult child to raise because I had attachment issues. She could not leave me for even a second because I would either cry or crawl around in tears looking for her. Oops, sorry Mummy!

With all that going on, I honestly don't think that my parents worried about my teeth. Plus I think I look alright. What do you think?

HAD AN OK CHILDHOOd

My Daddy loved to take photos of us. It was one of his many hobbies, and he even had his own studio where he would hang dry the photo strips of his family.

But funny how now I can't find photos of me to show you. This is me perhaps in kindergarten going age.

ugly duckling

boy, i was a real ugly duckling

Or my Dad was a real lousy photographer.

I'm writing this dental story from what I can deduce. My mum is a strange character now that she is an elderly. She said don't go and ask her about things that happened in my childhood. "She has suffered enough" she told me, and she does not want to re-live those years. LOL! Ya Mum, I can totally understand. There are parts of my life that I don't ever want to recall.

So what I remember was that most of the conversations that happened in my primary and in my pre-teens age revolved about how we (we were 3 daughters) looked, how we behaved and how the outside world saw us.

Like most kids that age from that generation, I was awkward and skinny, I had pimples and someone told my Mum that my teeth needed to be fixed.

I want to share my version of 'my dental knowledge' with you

AI may be super-clever but it did not walk the journey. I did! From childhood to now, from palatal expanders to Invisalign to Smartee, I've put them all in my mouth.

And now I lament the questions that my Mum should have asked, that I should have asked, that the Doctors should have told us then and now...

the goal behind

It is a never-ending journey

I love this century! What would have been a huge effort to share can now be settled with a few clever prompts. If you have enjoyed my story so far, and you can sense my genuineness, then hear me out as I ask that you have an open mind towards using all these wonderful AI tools out there! It's genuinely fun and it's fascinating.

More importantly, I know that you also have a story. Trust me, there is someone out there who is experiencing what you have been through and I know that they wished that someone had told them: "Hang in there, if I can do it, so can you! This is how I did it." " 加油 ! 熬过去就好了! 让我和你分享一下我是如何解决这个问题的".

Human beings are born kind-hearted and we don't mind sharing, but most of us can't spend > 1 hour a day to 'share-and-care the outside world'. With the help of AI tools, maybe we all can...

(Let me put in writing that I don't believe in the model of referrals fees or commissions. I'm spending my time to do this because I want to be the voice of the kids who have crooked teeth, and in a bigger way, I want to help the Mothers to help their kids. In doing so, we will help ourselves as well in some way or the other. This has always been my experience.

We are on this big road called 'The Unicorn Oral Care Journey' that we know so little of.

Class 3 malocclusion

Since I was a child, I have this type of teeth misalignment where the lower molars are ahead of the upper molars, causing the lower jaw to stick out. It is called 'Class 3 Malocclusion' also known as ‘地包天’.
